Personal data collected

The following data may be collected on the website:

  • Via the contact form: first name, last name, email address, phone number, message content.
  • Via a booking: last name, first name, address, email address, phone number, order information.
  • Via the booking form: for each runner booked, full name, email, phone number, date of birth and the details of an emergency contact. If you book on behalf of someone else, it is your responsibility to tell them that you are passing their details to us.
  • Via cookies: anonymous browsing data (pages viewed, visit duration, browser type).

The data collected is strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the website and the management of business transactions. It is collected only when you voluntarily provide it.

Use of data

The information collected is used to:

  • respond to your requests;
  • support you in your travel or running project;
  • improve the website user experience.

Your data is never sold or transferred to third parties.

Purpose of data collection

  • Responding to requests submitted via the contact form.
  • Managing bookings and payments.

Processing is based on your consent (contact form, cookies), on the performance of a contract (booking a getaway), and on compliance with legal obligations (invoicing, accounting).

Data recipients

Personal data is intended exclusively for Agence Run Away inc. It may, however, be shared with technical service providers strictly necessary for the operation of the website:

  • the website host;
  • the email service through which contact form messages travel;
  • Stripe, which hosts the payment page and processes deposits;
  • the partners of the getaway you booked — accommodation, race organiser, carriers — for what is strictly necessary to deliver it;
  • audience measurement tools.

These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Data shared outside Quebec

Some getaways take place abroad. The information needed to enter you in the race and book your accommodation is then shared with local partners: for the Cartagena half marathon, with the race organiser and the hotel, both located in Colombia. Payment itself is handled by Stripe, whose servers are outside Quebec.

This sharing is limited to what is necessary to deliver the trip. If you would like the details before booking, write to contact@therunaway.ca.

Data security

Agence Run Away inc. implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data and to prevent unauthorized access, loss or disclosure.

Data retention period

  • Contact information: a maximum of three years after the last interaction.
  • Booking data: for the legally required period (invoicing, accounting obligations).
  • Cookies: a maximum of 13 months.

Audience measurement tools

The website may use audience measurement tools to understand traffic and improve its content. These tools collect anonymous data such as pages visited, time spent on the site and traffic sources.

In accordance with Quebec’s Law 25, none of these tools is loaded before your explicit consent. Until you accept, no audience measurement takes place.
